FENNELL Annie (nee Crackell)

Annie Crackell left Victoria Station, Sheffield, England with her parents and her brother Percy when she was 19 years of age. After arriving in Western Australia she came to Gnowangerup and worked for her uncle, Mr. Fred Lee in his grocery store and in the baker's shop.
She married Jack Fennell who had served with distinction in the 1914-18 War. They had three children - two daughters, Sheila and Edna and a son, Leonard.
Sheila married William Gaze who was the son of Rick Gaze. Rick and his brother Owen took up farming in the district two years before the first World War and their descendants still farm in the district.
Annie Fennell was a long time member of the Country Women's Association and a longtime supporter of the Methodist (later Uniting) church.
